Glenn Beck Pre-empted for Shutdown Coverage

On Wednesday, Fox News announced Glenn Beck was going to be leaving his 5pm time-slot at some point later this year. And we’ve just learned, he won’t be on the air tonight, either.

Fox News Channel is preempting “Glenn Beck” today for breaking news on the possible government shutdown. “Special Report with Bret Baier” will be two hours today, from 5-7pmET.

Beck’s been bumped before for breaking news coverage, most recently after the earthquake in Japan and the revolution in Egypt.

The network may also stay live into the 11pmET hour, preempting the re-air of “The O’Reilly Factor,” if an agreement is still not reached.
