Karmazin Doesn’t Rule Out Hiring Imus

On with FNC’s Neil Cavuto this hour, Sirius satellite radio CEO Mel Karmazin said he would not rule out hiring Don Imus to host a show on a combined Sirius/XM channel (assuming the merger goes through.) Karmazin to Cavuto: “the fact that he had been fired would not stop me from having Don work for me again.” Karmazin was CEO of Infinity radio when it owned WFAN.

Cavuto also asked Karmazin why he agreed to do a promotional spot for CNBC. “They asked me if I would,” said Karmazin, adding “I certainly am looking to the Fox Business Channel (aka FBN)… if you would like to have me participate, I would be very happy to.” Cavuto is the SVP and managing editor of the new channel.
