Morning Joe Team Talks O’Reilly

shustertv_5-15.jpgWell, maybe the Bill O’Reilly-Inside Edition video hasn’t in fact run its course.

This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Barack Obama staffer Robert Gibbs sat through a variety of O’Reilly-related questions toward the end of his interview. David Shuster started the line of questioning. “You’ve seen this Bill O’Reilly meltdown thing right?” he asked. “Has that made the Obama campaign more or less likely to accept O’Reilly’s invitation to go on his show?”

After some laughter and attempts to change the subject to health care, Gibbs gave his answer (including a reference to the “don’t block the shot” incident). “I think at some point we will go on Bill O’Reilly’s show,” he said. “I think the best way to go about a bully is to go directly at him.”

Co-anchor Mika Brzezinski defended the FNC anchor, saying, “Just for the record, he did a great job interviewing Hillary Clinton.”

Click continued to see the full clip, including Pat Buchanan‘s follow up question that brought a, “poor Robert Gibbs,” from Brzezinksi.
