“Poll: Military, Media Fell Short On Iraq”

From today’s Chicago Tribune: “A majority of Americans thinks that both the military and the news media could have done more to inform the public about Iraq and the stakes involved in going to war there, according to a new Gallup poll commissioned by the McCormick Tribune Foundation of Chicago.”

In 1999, 79 percent of Americans said they thought the media kept them well-informed on military and national security issues. That percentage is now down to 61 percent.
