Pres. Dobbs? Well, We Know Where He Stands on Immigration…

After the The Wall Street Journal’s Greg Hitt speculated about the presidential future of CNN anchor Lou Dobbs in this morning’s paper, Dobbs appeared on The Situation Room to discuss the possibility. Wolf Blitzer pressed Dobbs, and the anchor would not rule out a run. He said, “Every time I’ve said never in my life I found that perhaps I overstated it a bit.”

Dobbs did not rule out the possibility in the Journal article either, but he did say, “I haven’t got the personality or nature to be a politician.”

Dobbs originally started speculation about his political future when he posted a column on CNN.com that brought up the idea of a surprise candidate who was poised to enter the race in November. The journalist Robert Novak picked up on it fueling the speculation.
