ESPN posted its highest-rated and most-viewed day in the network’s 31-plus year history on January 1, thanks to the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl.

ESPN averaged a 4.3 rating (6,301,000 viewers, P2+; 4,259,000 homes) on New Year’s Day, breaking its previous old record set on Sept. 14, 2009 (3.4 rating; 4,456,000 viewers; 3,396,000 homes) when they aired a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Read more
