Rashida Jones Named EP of MSNBC’s ‘Jansing & Co.’

Rashida Jones is joining MSNBC as the executive producer of “Jansing & Company,” Chris Jansing‘s 10amET show.

Jones comes from WIS, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, S.C., where she has been the news director since 2011. She replaces Fedrico Quadrani, who left MSNBC for CNN earlier this year.

“Rashida, a highly-sought after newsroom leader, has always been someone I wanted on our team,” MSNBC VP and executive editor Yvette Miley wrote in an email to MSNBC staffers today. “She is a visionary who understands strategy and how to lead a team to accomplish a goal.”

Federico Quadrani Leaves MSNBC for CNN, Will EP Jake Tapper Show

Federico Quadrani had already passed up an opportunity to move to Washington, DC to oversee Chuck Todd‘s MSNBC show, but the lure of Jake Tapper‘s new 4pm program on CNN was enough for him to make the move.

Quadrani has been with MSNBC since 2009, joining as weekend EP, before taking the reins of “The Daily Rundown,” but based in New York. Currently, he is the executive producer of 10am show “Jansing & Company.”

Before MSNBC, Quadrani worked for the “Today” show from 2003 to 2009, and was at ABC’s “Good Morning America” from 1998 to 2003.

“I’m thrilled to have Federico join me in leading our new team,” said Tapper. “In recent years he’s produced incisive political coverage, but his diverse news background is equally important. From his Peabody award-winning live coverage of 9/11 in the ABC News control room through his days producing textured taped pieces and remarkable live shots at NBC’s Today, Federico has built a reputation for finding great American stories and creating compelling content. His voice will help us build the informative, engaging and provocative program we want this to be.”

New EPs for ‘Daily Rundown,’ ‘Andrea Mitchell Reports’

rundownreports_8-12.jpgMSNBC has announced some new changes among its dayside executive producers, TVNewser has learned.

Jennifer Suozzo is now EP of “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” the program she helped launch in 2008.

Federico “Fed” Quadrani — who, as we reported, left a supervising producer gig at “Today” in April to EP MSNBC weekends — becomes the EP of Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie‘s “Daily Rundown,” which launched in January. Quadrani replaces Nikki Egan who moved to primetime to take the senior producer opening Greg Kordick left on “Countdown.”

‘Today’ SP Moves to MSNBC

“Federico will play a major role at MSNBC as we continue to evolve our content into an urgent, smart and compelling product,” writes MSNBC Executive Editor Yvette Miley in an announcement to staff this afternoon. Miley’s full message after the jump.
