CNN Reporter Files EEOC Complaint Against Time Warner

JoshLevsCNN reporter Josh Levs has filed an EEOC complaint against Time Warner over their family leave policy which he claims is biased. Levs and his wife just had their third child. He claims that under Time Warner rules, all parents of new children have the option of 10 paid weeks off — except biological fathers.

Under Time Warner rules, I have only two choices: stay out for 10 weeks without pay, or return to work and hire someone to come to our home each day. Neither is financially tenable, and the fact that only biological dads face this choice at this point in a newborn’s life is ludicrous.

Levs says he will return to work next week, “unfairly forced to choose between the two untenable options.”

“Trust me — it’s the last thing I want to be doing right now,” Levs writes, adding, “I’m not giving up without a fight.”

We’ve reached out to CNN for comment, and they’re not responding.

What do you think about the complaint?

CNN’s Josh Levs Delivers His Own Baby

More than a year after the birth of his son, CNN’s social media correspondent Josh Levs is talking about how he delivered the baby boy (right) during an emergency situation.

This morning on “Sanjay Gupta MD” Levs talks about the delivery and how nobody told him this might happen: “[My wife] might skip labor, suddenly fall to the floor, and give birth. Oh, and the umbilical cord might be tangled around the baby’s neck five times.”

A 911 operator talked Levs through delivery. “Oh my God, the baby’s not breathing,” he said after delivery, “Breathe baby, breathe.” The operator then talked him through giving CPR. See the story this morning and again tomorrow morning on CNN at 7:30amET.

CNN’s Getting Stimulated

Stimulusproject.jpgToday CNN begins a new series called “The Stimulus Project” which will break down where the money from the last year’s stimulus package has gone — who it’s helping, and who’s abused the program. The series continues all week ahead of Saturday’s release of new stimulus data.

Leading the coverage on CNN/U.S. will be chief business correspondent Ali Velshi and CNN business correspondent Christine Romans. Velshi, along with CNN anchor TJ Holmes and correspondents Tom Foreman and Josh Levs, will review projects from a fancy new “Stimulus Desk.” Not paid for with stimulus money.
