NBC News Ups Dembo For Investigations Role

NBC News has tapped a 14-year NBC veteran Robert Dembo to head up the investigative unit. As Senior Broadcast Producer, NBC News Investigations, Dembo will coordinate all of NBC’s investigative resources. In June, the network hired Michael Isikoff from Newsweek as its national investigative correspondent.

In his time at NBC News, Dembo has been Director of National News Coverage, Senior Producer of NBC Nightly News and Project Manager of large-scale news events.

News Radio Pioneer Joe Dembo Passes Away

Sad news to report. Joseph Dembo, a former CBS Radio VP and correspondent who was a pioneer in the all-news radio format, has died.

In a note to staff, CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus, writes, Dembo “was an important figure in the history of WCBS radio in New York, as well as the CBS Radio Network. He also played key roles for the television news division. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.”

The cause of death was cancer, said his son, Robert Dembo who followed in his father’s footsteps and is a news executive at NBC News.

Joe Dembo was 83.
