Lindsay Czarniak Leaving DC For ESPN Next Month

WRC-TV anchor Lindsay Czarniak is Bristol-bound.

The 33-year-old is leaving her Washington D.C. sports anchor position for a job at ESPN next month.

“Lindsay has been an important part of our station for the last six years,” said Camille Edwards, WRC’s vice president of news. “We would have loved for her to continue to be part of our team. She will always have a lot of friends at NBC4, and we truly wish her all the best.”

Czarniak is a protege of the late George Michael, who hired her in 2005.

Bud Selig Taps Tom Schieffer to Run the Los Angeles Dodgers

Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has tapped former Texas Rangers president Tom Schieffer to run day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to Sports Business Daily.

Schieffer ran the Rangers from 1991-1999, and went on to serve in the Presidential administration of George W. Bush, as Ambassador to Australia, and later Japan.

He is also the younger brother of the legendary CBS newsman Bob Schieffer.
