“Today On The Trail” vs. “On The Trail”

Yesterday’s announcement of “Today on the Trail,” a new Today Show feature, definitely felt like a slap at Good Morning America’s candidate town halls.

NBC says the backstage segments will “capture the long bus rides, the strategizing, the raw and the exciting moments that will give voters real insight into who these men and women really are.”

Of course, some observers would point to similarities between “Today on the Trail” and This Week with George Stephanopoulos‘ well-established “On the Trail” series. In fact, the series was awarded a Cronkite Award for political coverage last year…
