“As details about the Virginia Tech massacre continued to emerge Tuesday, cable and network news outlets credited veteran beat reporters at the Justice Department and other agencies in Washington, D.C. — not at the scene — with many of their scoops, which led the day’s media coverage,” USA Today reports.
