Key Responsibilities
Analyze customer Request for Quotes (RFQs), blueprints, and technical specifications to understand project requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams to gather necessary information and validate manufacturing feasibility.
Calculate detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, tooling, and overhead using internal costing models and ERP systems.
Develop competitive pricing strategies, applying appropriate profit margins and considering market conditions.
Generate accurate, professional, and timely quotations, ensuring all relevant terms and conditions are included.
Maintain comprehensive records of all quotes, revisions, and customer communications within the CRM system.
Follow up on submitted quotes, answer customer inquiries, and negotiate terms to secure orders.
Recommended Qualifications
3+ years of experience in quoting, estimating, or sales support within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and pricing.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations and margin analysis.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quote accuracy.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and customers.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with specific ERP/CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).
Technical understanding of common manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly). Exposure to cost accounting principles or financial analysis.
