Key Responsibilities
Analyze customer Request for Quotes (RFQs), drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to gather accurate cost data for materials, labor, and tooling.
Calculate comprehensive costs, including direct materials, labor, overhead, and profit margins, to develop competitive pricing.
Prepare and present professional, detailed quotes and proposals to customers or sales teams within defined deadlines.
Utilize ERP/CRM systems to manage quoting pipelines, track quote statuses, and maintain accurate historical pricing data.
Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders regarding quote clarifications, revisions, and project timelines.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the quoting workflow.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in quoting, cost estimation, or a related commercial role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP systems, quoting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost modeling and pricing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing clear proposals and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with specific ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or CRM systems.
Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and materials.
Understanding of cost accounting principles and margin analysis.
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or process improvement methodologies.
