Job Overview
Position: Private music instructors (focus on piano) in Shafter, CA. Job type: Part-time, Independent contractor. Pay rate: $20-$30 per hour, dependent on travel time, experience/education, and student retention. You have the freedom to set your own schedule and curriculum/lesson plans.
Location & Schedule
Lessons may take place at the student’s home, your home or studio/rehearsal space, or via webcam. While webcam lessons are possible, the majority of students prefer in-person lessons, so local instructors who can host students or travel within the Shafter, CA area are preferred.
Responsibilities
Provide private music instruction (primarily piano) to students.
Communicate effectively with our office and maintain on-time attendance.
Develop and adapt lesson plans aligned with student goals.
Coordinate logistics for travel to students or hosting sessions as needed.
Qualifications
Formal music training is not mandatory, but one of the following is required: a degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or previous teaching experience.
Ability to work with kids and maintain good communication with the office.
Compensation & Support
Independent contractor arrangement. Taylor Robinson Music handles advertising, marketing, SEO, and billing to bring in students, allowing you to focus on teaching.
