Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports the operations of BioLife Plasma Services, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and assisting with donor eligibility assessment, adverse event management, laboratory result review, and vaccination programs.
Responsibilities
Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
Evaluate donor reactions during donation and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and emergency transport.
Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues.
Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluations with occupational health/ER as required.
Assist in pandemic coordination and investigations of local pandemic threats when authorized by EHS.
Qualifications
High school diploma or recognized nursing program graduate with state licensing (LPN or LVN).
Current licensure or certification in the state of assignment.
Current CPR and AED certification.
Basic IV therapy certification fulfilling state requirements.
Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Benefits
Hourly wage: $25.60 – $35.20.
