The Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) is responsible for providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. This role requires strong clinical expertise, the ability to respond to emergencies, and a commitment to delivering safe, patient-centered care in a high-acuity environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum 1‑2+ years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery
Active Illinois RN License (Required prior to start)
BLS Certification (AHA - Required)
ACLS Certification (Required)
NRP Certification (Required)
Experience in labor, delivery, and postpartum care
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high‑acuity or hospital-based L&D units
Familiarity with fetal monitoring systems
Strong patient care and communication skills
Work Environment
Labor & Delivery Unit
Onsite role in Mattoon, IL
Fast‑paced, patient-centered clinical environment
Additional Requirements
Must be flexible with night shifts and scheduling needs
Ability to handle emergency and high-risk situations
Must comply with all hospital and regulatory requirements
