Overview

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
NaphCare is hiring an LPN to join our team of medical professionals in Springville, AL where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the St. Clair Correctional Facility.
As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the residents. You will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and respond to emergencies in a secure environment where safety is paramount.
Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments, interview patients about current health problems and medication history
Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight
Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
Administer medication, including injections and monitor reactions
Maintain medical records, entering information into the electronic health record, TechCare
Observe patient health and mental health status
Provide emergency first aid
Provide patient education and discharge/release planning
Qualifications

Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information
Display integrity, professionalism and adhere to the Code of Conduct and all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
