Shipping & Receiving Lead | Grand Rapids, MI
Salary Range:
$52,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee daily shipping and receiving operations.
Train and mentor team members on best practices and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
Operate and maintain material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Collaborate with production and logistics to optimize material flow and meet deadlines.
Troubleshoot and resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies and issues.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Recommended Qualifications
3-5 years experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team.
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems and shipping software.
Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with an ERP system for inventory management and transaction processing
Forklift certification with experience operating various types of lifts (stand-up, sit-down, reach truck)
Knowledge of DOT regulations for hazardous materials shipping
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on MHE (Material Handling Equipment)
