Key Responsibilities of the Controller



  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, job cost accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements while supporting audit processes

  • Lead job cost accounting functions, including project setup, cost tracking, and revenue recognition

  • Partner with operations to analyze project performance and improve profitability

  • Implement reporting tools and dashboards to enhance financial visibility

  • Drive process improvements, automation, and ERP optimization initiatives

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

  • Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering accountability and collaboration




Qualifications for the Controller



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance

  • Experience with job cost accounting and project-based financial environments

  • Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
