QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate
Additional certifications or qualifications as specified by the Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel Bulletin 746
REPORTS TO:
Principal/Assistant Principal/Other Assigned Evaluator
JOB GOAL:
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The teacher is responsible for growth in student learning.
TERM:
Nine, Ten, Eleven or Twelve Months
SALARY:
Nine, Ten, Eleven or Twelve Month Teacher Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Instructional Responsibilities
Establish learning objectives with written lesson plans available in the classroom.
Teach effectively using diverse methods, curriculum materials, and differentiation.
Provide individual grouping and instruction suited to student needs.
Maintain a conducive learning atmosphere and classroom control.
Maintain subject knowledge and classroom discipline per state law and school rules.
II. Administrative Responsibilities
Follow school and board rules, maintain schedules, and sign in/out.
Be present during all scheduled periods and supervise students off campus.
Notify the Principal of absences and arrange substitutes.
Keep classroom clean, maintain instructional materials, and prepare field trips.
III. Professional Responsibilities
Show enthusiasm, maintain good public relations with parents, and uphold ethical conduct.
Participate in in‑service programs and professional development.
Implement professional growth plan per personnel evaluation plan.
Follow performance expectations per the NIET rubric (Instructional, Motivation, Presentation, etc.).
IV. Personal Responsibilities
Adhere to conduct standards, dress code, and professional behavior.
Maintain self‑control, health, and voice clarity.
Be punctual, attend meetings, and accept additional duties as assigned.
Follow federal, state, and school board policies.
V. Teaching Components
Lesson planning, instruction, collaboration, grading, attendance, and parent communication.
Supervision of students on and off campus, during school hours and extracurricular activities.
Non‑instructional duties such as meetings, conferences, IEPs, PTA events, and school board functions.
