Keller Postman represents a broad array of clients in class and mass actions, individual arbitrations, and multidistrict litigation matters. Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a diligent, team‑oriented Associate to play a key role in all phases of mass tort litigation. This individual will work closely with experienced trial lawyers on high‑impact cases that make a meaningful difference in clients' lives. This role offers significant hands‑on responsibility, exposure to complex litigation strategy, and the opportunity to contribute to large‑scale, coordinated proceedings from early case development through trial. Associates may be based in our Washington, D.C., Coral Gables, Florida, or Chicago office.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and develop claims on behalf of injured clients, including factual and legal analysis
Review and synthesize medical records, case files, and investigatory materials
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
Manage written discovery and large‑scale document review processes
Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses
Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, expectations, and next steps
Collaborate with co‑counsel and national litigation teams in multidistrict and coordinated proceedings
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit development, witness outlines, and case strategy
Attend hearings, court appearances, and trials as needed
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active U.S. bar license in good standing (Illinois, D.C., or Florida preferred, depending on office location)
3–5 years of experience in complex litigation
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in mass torts, product liability, or personal injury litigation
Familiarity with multidistrict litigation (MDL), class actions, or other complex civil litigation
Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records
Exposure to expert witness development and coordination
