
Registered Nurse, RN ED. Nights

About This Position
Cheshire Medical Center’s Emergency Department is a small, high‑acuity unit that serves a diverse rural community. The ED includes 21 beds, a four‑bed behavioral health pod, a private OB specialty room, two trauma/resuscitation bays, and telemedicine connections to specialists in neurology and emergency medicine. Nursing staff work side‑by‑side with techs, health unit coordinators, and providers as part of an interdisciplinary team to apply the nursing process to patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, documenting all relevant data.
Shift schedules are self‑managed with 12‑hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM, or swing shifts beginning at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Nurses may work across a variety of nights, rotating weekends, and holidays. The average nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 5:1, with smaller ratios for higher acuity patients.
Responsibilities
Deliver patient care in an emergency setting according to the nursing process.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and patient data.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to provide high‑quality patient care.
Respond calmly and efficiently to crises and rapidly changing conditions.
Utilize computer systems and technology to manage patient information and support care delivery.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse license in the State of New Hampshire.
Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Strong assessment, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Capacity to work well within a team and serve as an effective crisis responder.
Proficient computer skills.
