You will gain hands-on exposure to EHS programs while partnering with employees, visitors, and subcontractors to reinforce safety best practices.Key responsibilities include:* Conducting safety inductions for new employees, visitors, and subcontractors* Compiling, maintaining, and updating safety files and EHS systems on a weekly basis* Assisting with risk identification activities and safety training sessions* Performing site inspections, safety audits, and supporting incident investigations* Promoting a strong safety culture and actively supporting Johnson Controls’ **Zero Harm** philosophy**How You Will Do It**You will be successful in this role by combining foundational EHS knowledge with strong communication and relationship‐building skills.You will:* Apply your understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) to support regulatory compliance* Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to manage safety documentation, reports, and training materials* Deliver clear and engaging internal safety training and coaching to employees and subcontractors* Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, recognizing that learning and improvement come through experience* Manage your time effectively across audits (20%), training (20%), and administrative/documentation tasks (60%)**What We Look For****Required Qualifications*** Currently enrolled in a 2‐ or 4‐year undergraduate program related to Environment, Health & Safety or a closely related field* Strong written and verbal communication skills* Proactive mindset with an interest in workplace safety and compliance* Ability to work effectively with employees, clients, and subcontractors**Preferred Qualifications*** Coursework or exposure related to occupational health and safety regulations* Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)* Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and safety awareness initiatives**Why Join Us**At Johnson Controls, safety is foundational to how we operate.
