Accounts Receivable Clerk

Location: Leesburg, VA (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Compensation: $31.00 $33 / Hourly
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
Key Responsibilities

Apply and post customer payments accurately and timely
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies, including unapplied or misapplied cash
Generate and review invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness
Monitor AR aging and support collection and resolution efforts
Investigate and resolve billing and payment discrepancies
Maintain accurate customer account records and master data
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Operations)
Support order release processes by resolving account holds
Prepare documentation for AR transactions and ensure audit readiness
Assist with month-end close activities related to receivables
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
Qualifications

Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Receivable experience
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, data analysis)
Experience working within an ERP system (JDE preferred)
Knowledge of cash application processes and related regulations
Ability to analyze issues and implement solutions effectively
