Overview
NaphCare is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team of medical professionals in Harvest, AL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Limestone Correctional Facility. As a Correctional Registered Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. You will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse you will play a critical role in providing quality care that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Key duties include:
Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and ensure timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities.
Educate patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.
Understand and adhere to correctional facility security protocols while working closely with officers and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report relevant information.
Qualifications
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama.
Active BLS CPR certification (AHA preferred).
Knowledge of nursing practice principles, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health‑care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health‑care services.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed.
Integrity, professionalism, and adherence to a Code of Conduct and all facility policies and legal requirements.
Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities
Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR. Balance and endurance throughout a shift are required.
