Department
The California Department of Aging (CDA) administers programs that serve older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long‑term care facilities throughout the State. The department administers funds allocated under the federal Older Americans Act, the Older Californians Act, and through the Medi‑Cal program.
Job Duties
Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (AA I), within the Office of Finance & Administrative Operations (OFAO), Accounting Management Section (AMS), the Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs the more difficult accounting functions for the California Department of Aging (CDA) and the California Commission on Aging (CCoA). Responsibilities include:
Processing complex state operations payments.
Payment reporting and tracking.
Processing travel advances and expenses.
Year‑end tasks and other miscellaneous accounting duties.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications specified in the Classification Specification. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Requirements include:
Completion of the Personal Leave Program 2025 compliance (3% reduction in pay for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits monthly).
Conflict of Interest Code compliance: completion of Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and annually thereafter.
Foreign transcript evaluation (CL‑635) if foreign credential is used to meet Minimum Qualifications.
