
Staffing Coordinator- YSC

Overview
Develops and manages schedules, mandation, and overtime; tracks attendance; supports retention and fairness in staffing.
Position Responsibilities
Create and maintain weekly/monthly schedules across shifts.
Track attendance, call-offs, and tardiness; provide monthly reports.
Maintain mandation list and redesign practices for fairness.
Prepare weekly overtime reports for HR.
Audit time records against schedules.
Coordinate interviews and route hiring paperwork to HR.
Track staff attendance, specifically those in their orientation period.
Maintain staffing database (training, restrictions, certifications).
Coordinate flex/backup pool of officers for coverage.
Lead retention initiatives (recognition, birthdays, morale events).
Collect staff feedback on scheduling and report to DSYS.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work any shift as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; experience may substitute.
Minimum 2 years in corrections, workforce management, or scheduling.
Knowledge of overtime/mandation practices in secure facilities.
Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
Proficiency with scheduling and reporting software.
Excellent communication skills are required- both written and verbal.
Salary enhancement for bi-lingual skills are eligible.
