Description

Performs professional accounting work involving the recording, analysis and reporting of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal, state, university and NACUBO guidelines.

Responsibilities

Assemble data from books of original entry and central control records.

Prepare monthly account reconciliations, biweekly cash transfers, and other financial statements and reports pertaining to departmental or university activities.

Audit and process purchase, cash receipt, and disbursement documents in accordance with disbursing rules and regulations.

Monitor status and use of short-term operational cash advances and advise management of status.

Maintain student billing system accounting function and create and correct transcode errors; review financial reports and clear “suspended transactions.”

Review central accounts and fund groups for propriety of entries and investigate overdrafts.

Prepare or assist in the preparation of year‑end government reports and annual financial reports.

Perform other job‑related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.

Knowledge normally obtained through a formal, directly job‑related 4‑year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in‑depth specialized training program.

No experience is required.
