Job Details
Duration: 13 weeks (start date ASAP). 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. Employment type: Travel.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans.
Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders.
Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples.
Treat patients with various methods including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications.
Set up and monitor equipment to ensure correct oxygen delivery.
Observe and record patient status and progress.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care.
Educate patients and/or family members on medication use and equipment operation.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC.
Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Acquired Certified Advanced Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
Required Skills
Critical thinking, service‑excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient reading, writing, and communication in English.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
Physical: Able to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push/pull, and bend.
Interpersonal: Work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/Motor: Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move around when assisting procedures or using equipment.
Mental: Handle frequent public/customer contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with minimal supervision, and maintain continuous concentration to detail.
Sensory: Possess visual acuity and effective communication ability.
