Responsibilities
Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
Examine and interview patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders
Perform diagnostic tests including lung capacity measurements and blood/sputum collection
Administer treatments such as chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
Set up and monitor equipment for appropriate oxygen delivery
Observe and record patient status and progress
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care
Educate patients and/or family members on medication and equipment use
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice
Required Qualifications
At least one year of recent experience as an RRT
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Other certifications and licenses as required for the position
Essential Work Functions
Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders
Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples
Treat patients through various methods including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
Set up and monitor equipment to ensure the patient is receiving the correct amount of oxygen at the correct rate
Observe and record patient status and progress
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care
Educate patients and/or family members on how to properly take medication and use equipment
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice
Required Essential Skills

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities:
Ability to remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, bend
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude
Technical/Motor Skills:
Ability to perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures
Mental Requirements:
Ability to cope with frequent public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision as needed, and maintain focus on detail
