Orange Media Network KBTV-TV Entry Level Show Producer 2026-2027
We are seeking two part‑time (maximum 24 hours per week) Show Producer positions for the Orange Media Network (OMN) at Oregon State University (OSU). The role is for the broadcast of KBTV-TV and includes live TV production, post‑production, and content upload to online platforms.
Position Summary
As a Show Producer, you will coordinate and produce occasional live TV broadcasts for KBTV-TV on channel 26 and online. Duties include developing rundown, coordinating crew, ensuring on‑air and post‑production quality, uploading final episodes to YouTube, and maintaining accurate captioning.
Employment Dates
Full start: September 8, 2026 – June 15, 2027. Each term includes one scheduled episode produced at $163 per episode.
Responsibilities
Produce one scheduled episode of a TV show per term (examples include sit‑down interview, late‑night talk, panel discussion, comedic “daily show” style).
Check in with the Station Manager regularly leading up to the shoot to review progress, content, rundown, and provide assistance.
Ensure each episode is exactly 30 minutes (includes content, breaks and credits).
Staff each show with dedicated crew members (director, TD, cameras, audio, etc.) and ensure volunteers are trained on equipment.
Provide a detailed rundown, share with the crew, and present to the Station Manager at scheduled meetings.
After a live show, upload the episode to KBVR‑TV’s YouTube page within 24 hours and properly label it with title, description, tags, and cover image.
Hold a post‑show review meeting with the crew to provide and receive feedback.
Ensure all videos have complete and accurate captioning; provide scripts, transcripts, and prep material to the Station Manager no later than 24 hours before airtime.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the adviser.
Communication
Respond to emails, messages, and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN.
Notify the adviser immediately of any ethical, legal, personnel, or controversial issues.
Hold and post regular office hours each week for OMN, at least half of which during 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday; schedule may vary by term.
Follow all OMN policies and procedures and enforce them with staff and volunteers.
Eligibility & Academic Requirements
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
Must maintain Academic Standing; students on academic suspension are ineligible.
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard:
High school student: regular enrollment in a high school or homeschooling program.
Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full‑time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load must be approved by the Office of International Services (OIS) and provided to the Student Employment Center.
Required Qualifications
Familiar with live studio production.
Strong communicator, comfortable with public speaking.
Organized and reliable.
Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Previously a crew member of KBVR‑TV.
Prior attendance and participation in OMN training camp.
