Position Summary
We are seeking two part‑time (up to 24 hours per week) KBVR‑TV Show Producers to coordinate and produce live TV broadcasts for the Orange Media Network. The role involves live shows on channel 26 and online, as well as uploading full episodes and exclusive content to KBVR’s YouTube and Facebook platforms.

Appointment Type: Student Employee

Hours: 10 hours per week

Compensation: $652 per month (10 hrs/week) – hourly rates between $15.05 and $21.50 based on location

Salary Schedule: 16th – 15th of the following month; Pay Date: last working day of the month

Location: Oregon State University (OSU); hybrid remote option

Term: September 8, 2026 – June 15, 2027

Responsibilities

Create and oversee content for a television series that airs four times per term on KBVR‑TV.

Ensure all shows are properly staffed with dedicated volunteer crew members (director, TD, cameras, audio, etc.) and train volunteers on equipment before each show.

Provide equal opportunities for crew members, delegating tasks appropriately and avoiding taking on roles meant for crew (e.g., hosting, directing).

Build a detailed rundown for each episode and share the rundown and techbook with the crew and station manager five days before the shoot.

After the live show, optimize the recording for YouTube and upload it to the KBVR‑TV YouTube page within 24 hours with proper title, description, tags, and cover image.

Hold a post‑show meeting with the crew to view the episode, provide feedback, and critique.

Ensure all videos (broadcast and online) have accurate captioning by providing scripts, transcripts, and preparatory material to the station manager at least 24 hours before airtime.

Share links to full episodes on YouTube immediately following the broadcast.

Respond to emails, messages, and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN.

Notify the adviser immediately about any ethical, legal, personnel, or controversial issues.

Maintain regular office hours each week for the Orange Media Network (at least half during business hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday).

Follow all OMN policies and procedures and enforce them for staff and volunteers.

Other duties as assigned by the adviser.

Qualifications

Comfortable shooting and editing video.

Knowledgeable about live studio production.

Knowledgeable about field video production.

Knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding television and video.

Strong communicator and comfortable with public speaking.

Organized, reliable, and able to give and receive feedback.

Composed and professional when working with difficult individuals and situations.

Must be academically enrolled in high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.

Meet Academic Standing Requirements; suspended students are not eligible.

Meet minimal enrollment standards: High school (full‑time); undergraduates (6 credit hours), undergrad international (12), graduate (5), graduate international (9).

International students may require approval from the Office of International Services.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous paid staff or crew member of KBVR‑TV.

Prior attendance and participation in OMN training camp.

Work Schedule & Conditions

Max 24 hours per week.

Flexible because of academic schedule.
