Position Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, including supervising warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product. The role involves planning inbound and outbound volume, customer communication activities, space utilization and management, and equipment management.

People management responsibilities include hiring and training, labor management planning, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably.

Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals and comply with client SLAs.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and suggest cost‑saving measures.

Ensure client‑specified KPI compliance and meet quality system requirements.

Apply strong communication and motivational techniques to supervise, counsel, and discipline team members.

Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, training, and professional development programs; participate in promotions and wage increase recommendations.

Communicate critical operational issues to senior management and client representatives.

Plan the daily work schedule based on work orders and customer instructions; assign duties to appropriate staff.

Assess volume demands and plan warehouse space reorganization, supply levels, equipment, or staffing changes.

Ensure effective training is delivered and adherence to SOPs.

Maintain high motivation levels and provide growth and development opportunities for team members.

Conduct routine staff meetings to review daily and weekly work activities.

Management Information Systems

Train and ensure team efficiency in required information systems, including WMS.

Purchase necessary computer software and hardware in line with corporate IT policies.

Stay informed on changes in hardware and software technology and develop proficiency in client systems.

Customer Management

Maintain high‑level customer service standards across all functions.

Provide operational and administrative support to client accounts.

Maintain contact with all functions and respond to customer requests.

Lead or attend meetings with key customers regarding operational issues.

Coordinate supplier/customer visits to the site.

Promote positive client relationships through excellent service.

Budgeting / Financials

Support the development of an annual operating budget.

Manage controls to meet service levels and performance goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.

Ensure budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines.

Equipment & Facilities

Maintain sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment standards, including MHE.

Ensure team training on MHE usage.

Stay informed on new technology and make relevant recommendations.

Safety

Achieve company injury frequency and safety goals through proactive culture.

Audit warehouse for safety, security, and quality compliance.

Adhere to all statutory health and safety requirements.

Other Duties

Work overtime as required by business needs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff.

Flexible schedule availability, including nights and weekends.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

7+ years of experience in a logistics / distribution / relevant environment.

5+ years of experience in a supervisory role.

Ability to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate in winter and hot in summer.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Proficiency in WMS systems.

Language Skills

English reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Business communication proficiency at all levels.

Physical Demands
Occasionally handling, finger‑ing, and sitting; frequently bending; constantly walking and standing. Ability to lift 21–50 pounds, reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment
Rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles; typical noise level low to moderate.

Compensation
Expected base pay range: $95,000 – $98,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
