eDigitalResearch have released their latest Social Media Benchmark study, which looks at the top brands using social media in the United Kingdom, documenting how major developments and trends are changing consumer behaviour.

Topshop remains the top UK brand on both Twitter and Facebook, leading ASOS in both channels, although the latter leads on Google+.

In terms of total numbers of followers/Likes/fans, the study revealed that the top 10 UK brands across Twitter, Facebook and Google+ are:

Ann Summers and Tesco have also made great strides in their social media campaigns over the past quarter. Ann Summers has seen growth of some 1203 percent on Facebook, while Tesco’s ongoing offers promotion has seen them break into the Twitter top 20 for the first time.

The study rated Sainsbury’s, Game and HMV as the brands with the highest rates of engagement across Twitter, while Topshop led ASOS and New Look as the most ‘talked about’ UK brands on Facebook.
