Volunteer Your Professional Skills

Give what you know!

About This Opportunity

The Taproot Foundation (www.taprootfoundation.org) is a nonprofit organization that engages teams of project management, marketing/creative services, project management, HR and IT professionals to volunteer on pro bono projects for local nonprofits. Rather than writing a check to a local organization, Taproot Foundation lets you “give what you know” - your time and professional skills - so you can make the strongest impact in your community while networking and growing professionally. Nonprofits have the greatest potential for addressing our communities’ most challenging social and environmental problems, but often lack the operational resources they need to thrive. The Taproot Foundation exists to close this gap. As the country’s largest nonprofit consulting firm, the organization has engaged over 2,000 business professionals in rewarding pro bono work, delivering more than $21 million worth of services to over 450 nonprofits in Chicago, New York, Boston and the Bay Area.

Taproot Foundation screens the nonprofits, recruits top professionals to get involved, and provides project management so the time you give is used effectively. Volunteers dedicate about 100 hours over the course of a 5-6 month project which is designed to produce tangible deliverables for a nonprofit organization in need. Taproot Foundation’s flexible project model accommodates your work schedule, enabling you to leverage your volunteer time effectively to have a real impact on the success of a local nonprofit.
