WPNI's Jonathan Krim sent an email to staffers announcing, "senior producer Amy Kovac is ascending to the newly titled position of Local Community Editor. In that capacity, she'll be overseeing our day-to-day community publishing efforts in Loudoun and supervising that team, as well as working with me as we build out our strategy for other locales."
The Washington Business Journal's editor Mike Mills sent an email announcing, "Missy Frederick will be joining the Washington Business Journal as a reporter covering retail, tourism and hospitality. A tipster writes in, "Have you noticed that Brian Lamb no longer hosts the Washington Journal on C-SPAN? He used to host the show every Friday, but has not in months. He is still doing Q&A, his weekend show, but that is it. Probably part of slowing easing himself into retirement."
The Los Angeles Times reports, "The news that the Rev. Jesse Jackson took a crude swipe at Sen. Barack Obama this week put renewed scrutiny on the relationship between the veteran civil rights activist and Democratic presidential contender. But Jackson's vulgar criticism of Obama came close to going unreported. Jackson made the comments to a guest before an interview on Sunday's 'Fox & Friends,' whispering that Obama was 'talking down to black people' and that Jackson wanted to 'cut his nuts off.' 'On Tuesday, a staff member in the digital department e-mailed Jackson's comments to a producer for 'The O'Reilly Factor,' who was vacationing in France.' An O'Reilly producer vacationing in FRANCE? On second thought, he did lift the boycott... and made reference to his staff's Francophilia... Maybe David Carr will investigate."

There can't be one specific reason that only 9,000 households are tuning in to games. But I do have one theory that hasn't really been touched on elsewhere. It is my belief that in most major league cities, watching baseball games has simply become part of the basic summertime lifestyle for many people."
