With the recent departures at CQ Roll Call, reporters are being shifted around the newsroom.
Today’s memo from Roll Call Editor David Rapp announces the news of two reporters taking on new assignments. They are Emma Dumain, who is moving from the campus beat to House leadership reporter, and Emily Cahn, who moves from the publication’s Hill Life section to the politics team.
See the memo.
Roll Call staff –
I’m pleased to announce that Emma Dumain and Emily Cahn will be taking new assignments in the Roll Call newsroom.
Emma will become a House leadership reporter, filling a vacancy there. Emma has been a standout reporter for Roll Call this past year, literally owning the campus beat with her coverage of the Capitol Police, Architect of the Capitol, and D.C. Government relations, among other points of keen interest to our Hill readers. She started with Roll Call as an intern in 2007, and has worked for the legislative action team as well. So she’s got a well-rounded resume to take on this key beat.
Emily will become a politics reporter on Shira Toeplitz’s team, also filling a vacancy. For the past year she has been an editorial assistant on the copy desk and a versatile general assignment reporter for Jason Dick’s Hill Life section. She’s an energetic and persistent interviewer and has a career interest in campaign politics, so she’ll make a great addition to our signature news coverage of congressional elections.
Join me in congratulating them both.
