As of late we’ve learned more than we ever thought possible on CBS “Face the Nation’s” Host Bob Schieffer‘s crush on actress Gwyneth Paltrow. He told FBDC that she was his unfulfilled item on his bucket list and joked to Politico that he’d “do her” if he thought he couldn’t fail. But over the weekend we learned something far more disturbing: Paltrow is a man?

Not really. But the Hollywood on the Potomac blog reported that Schieffer has a “man crush” on Paltrow. Of course, a man crush is a man‘s crush on another man and Schieffer clearly doesn’t see flaxen-haired Gwyneth as a man. “Bob Schieffer on how he got his job at CBS and his man crush on Gwyneth Paltrow,” the headline blares. And this: “Bob Schieffer celebrated a colorful career at CBS and 20 Years With Face the Nation at a party hosted by Jeff Fager and David Rhodes at The St. Regis Hotel.  Find out how he REALLY got his job at CBS and what’s REALLY up with his man crush on Gwyneth Paltrow.”

Scheiffer never calls it a “man crush.” On camera he explains, “I hope Gwyneth Paltrow knows that’s just  a joke. But she’s terrific. I met her last year at the Country Music Association awards. She sang there. We actually had our picture taken together. She’s a very sweet young woman.”
