WPIX Reporter Francesca Maxime Moves on to Upstart Ebru TV

Freelance reporter Francesca Maxime dropped her instant visibilty with WPIX/Channel 11. The Harvard educated Maxime joined Ebru TV as a weekday anchor.

“It’s pretty much all international news, like a BBC America or Al Jazeera English,” Maxime tells FishbowlNY.

For now, New Yorkers hoping to see Maxime’s anchor exploits need cable provider RCN. However, the New Jersey-based channel is also broadcast in Africa and Europe.

With the unsteady life as a freelancer at WPIX since 2011, Maxime says this was an easy career move.

“The people are great and it’s amazing to have a Monday to Friday gig again, where I can plan my life, and get back to anchoring after a year and a half in the field and off the desk,” Maxime says.

Maxime started her first full week yesterday.
