Barnes & Noble Predicts Lower Nook Media Revenues

Barnes & Noble alerted investors this week that an upcoming earnings call will contain some disappointing news.

In a short release, the company explained: “Based on current forecasts, the Company now expects its fiscal year 2013 NOOK segment EBITDA loss to be greater than it was in fiscal 2012 and expects fiscal year 2013 NOOK Media revenues to be less than $3 billion.”

The company has scheduled its earnings call for investors at 10:00 a.m. ET on Thursday, February 28. Last month, the bookseller spooked investors, publishers and readers in a Wall Street Journal report that “Barnes & Noble Inc. expects to close as many as a third of its retail stores over the next decade.”
