Is Roger Ailes Writing an Autobiography?

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes is writing a book. Or so says reporter Gabriel Sherman in a piece in New York this week.

Ailes has not yet commented on the story. TVNewser has more: “When contacted for comment, a Fox News spokesperson told TVNewser, “‘There is one source with direct knowledge of Roger’s plans — and that’s Roger himself. Since Roger has never spoken to Gabe in his life, we continue to be fascinated with Gabe’s uncanny ability to read his mind.’”

Still Sherman does have some insight into Ailes, as he himself is working on a book about the Fox chief and has been interviewing sources close to Ailes. Sherman surmises that Ailes won’t publish a book while he is still running Fox News, because his position may prevent him from telling the whole story. Sherman’s guess is that the book will be out in 2013.
