Sony Launches Virtual Book Club
The Sony Reader Store has launched the Sony Readers Book Club. The virtual group will select a book to feature every month and at the end of the month host an online chat with the author on the Sony Reader social media pages.
The club launches next month with Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor. Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver will be the featured title for December and January. The Black Box by Michael Connelly will be featured in February and Molly Ringwald‘s When It Happens To You will be featured in March. Books featured in the club will be available at special discounted rates and Sony will give away extra features with these downloads.
Sony is also letting readers compete to be one of the 25 VIPs in the club. The press release explains: “The VIP members will each receive a Sony Reader device and cover with light, as well as the first four book-of-the-month eBooks for free. In February, the 25 VIP members will be invited to an in-person book club and meet-and-greet with author Michael Connelly in Los Angeles. The VIPs will receive airfare, hotel, transportation and meals for the duration of the weekend.” Follow this link to enter to be a VIP.
