Why I Write Hashtag Sweeps Twitter

twitterlogo2323.jpgWhy do you write? As you can see by the tweets below, even published authors have different reasons.

Yesterday Movable Type Literary Group agent Jason Ashlock asked writers to answer the question on Twitter, generating thousands of responses on Twitter. Add your answer and visit the #whyIwrite hashtag to see all the responses.

Here’s an excerpt from Ashlock’s original post: “My wonder at the ubiquity of the writing impulse makes me at times desperately curious to know where it comes from. Why do so many choose writing as their hobby? And even more remarkable, why do so many choose this most challenging enterprise as their career? … Log on to Twitter, toss down the hash tag #whyIwrite, and share what continues to draw you to the act of writing.”

Jason Pinter wrote: “Because even on the darkest night, you can create the brightest day.”

Delilah S. Dawson wrote: “To prove that the geeky high school Valedictorian didn’t become a loser. That’s right. I write for REVENGE.”

Andrew Shaffer wrote: “Because I don’t get paid to tweet.”

Victoria Strauss wrote: “Bottom line: I don’t know, & probably never will. I just keep doing it.”
