Ogilvy Public Relations announced that Dr. Jennifer Scott, global managing director, strategy+planning, will now serve as the agency’s New York office gead, effective immediately. In Dr. Scott’s new position, she will work closely with the New York office’s practice group heads on overseeing client accounts, business development, talent and office operations. Dr. Scott previously served as global MD, strategy+planning, in which she led a cross-disciplinary team of senior practitioners who consult with clients to elevate strategy, creativity and campaign excellence. Dr. Scott joined the agency in 2006 as managing director, insights & research. In this role, she worked across a spectrum of industries and geographies providing counsel to clients on using research to inform reputation management and crisis response, strengthen new and established brands, advocate for public policy initiatives, inspire behavior change and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. Brian Carovillano, who has been AP’s Bangkok-based Asia-Pacific news director, has been named managing editor for U.S. news, a role that encompasses the 50 State News Reports and other key responsibilities. In his new role, Brian will lead coverage of the United States, including the 50 state reports that are core to the AP, and the broader topical issues that are important to our newspaper, radio, television and digital customers close to home and around the world. He’ll directly supervise the four U.S. regional editors based in the East, South, Central and West hubs and work in close partnership with other news leaders, sales and other departments responsible for those products that rely on news from the United States. He’ll be in transition from Asia through the end of the year and expects to take up the reins of his new job in January. He’ll be based at AP headquarters in New York. (AP)
