Man Known As “The King” of CNBC Dies

CNBC President Mark Hoffman sent an email to employees this morning about the death of Carl Killingsworth. “Carl was responsible for many activities at CNBC. He planned virtually every party, luncheon and dinner.” Killingsworth, 70, came to NBC in 1964, moving to CNBC in 1996.

When CNBC shows went on the road “Carl was the advance person who saw to it that every detail was addressed with precision. He made friends with the schools or the hotels to ensure CNBC got the royal treatment. Carl’s well-earned nickname was “The King.”

Killingsworth died Saturday after a battle with liver and pancreatic cancer.
