Scenes from (Almost) Day One at the RNC
This TVNewser arrived in Tampa this morning, just as Tropical Storm Isaac’s outer bands continued to lash Florida’s west coast. The Republican National Convention, already shortened by a day because of Isaac, has changed the plans for some TV news anchors and reporters. But, for now, ABC’S Diane Sawyer, NBC’s Brian Williams and CBS’s Scott Pelley will broadcast Monday’s shows from here in Tampa.
So far we’ve stopped by the outdoor set of MSNBC, where “Hardball” and other shows will originate. We’ll be stopping by “Morning Joe” tomorrow at the Elephant Bar in the Channelside District. MSNBC has space inside the Tampa Bay Times forum as well where Andrea Mitchell is anchoring her show. Bloomberg’s set (below) is across from the Tampa Convention Center. We stopped by as Trish Regan anchored today’s “Street Smart” from the temporary studio, interviewing Lanhee Chen, Mitt Romney‘s policy director.
