Job Description
At Regions, the Relationship Banker I is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and by phone, and contributing to the financial wellness of our customers. The role creates meaningful personal connections while processing transactions and resolving end‑to‑end customer inquiries.
Provide opportunities for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or retail sales experience to begin a career with growth, development, and upward mobility.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide a consistent optimal customer experience on the cash line while handling customer transactional needs: deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other teller transactions.
Answer customer inquiries regarding products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests such as new/replacement cards, information changes, PIN reset, reordering checks, and basic problem resolution.
Develop relationships with customers and stay informed about their banking relationship.
Educate customers on standard consumer products and digital solutions such as mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
Assist branch and team members with basic tasks to aid in customer problem resolution.
Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals are recognized.
Follow all bank processes and procedures, comply with laws and regulations, and contribute to sound banking practices including managing operational risks.
Achieve branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance and perspective about Regions’ solutions.
Conduct outbound phone calls using generated customer and prospect lead lists to educate customers on emerging technology and assist with meeting their financial needs.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and electronically.
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Preferences
One year of banking, cash‑handling, and/or customer service experience.
Skills and Competencies
Adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Assisting customers with digital banking offerings.
Handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
Overseeing large sums of cash.
Strong customer focus and relationship‑building skills.

Job Range Target (Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range):
Minimum: $37,621.05 USD
Median: $44,536.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans: Eligible for a formulaic incentive plan based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
