Position Overview PharmaEssentia is seeking an experienced Hematology Account Manager (HAM) with a strong patient focus and a passion for driving results for its commercial product, BESREMi®. Reporting to the Regional Business Director, the Overlay Hematology Account Manager will span two base territories in the region. The role is expected to maximize sales through promotion to approved, targeted customers and distribution channels. Responsibilities include managing your own target list as well as territory opportunities, and working with base HAMs to educate stakeholders involved in patient care about BESREMi® across the treatment adoption process.
The hired candidate must reside in the Allentown, PA or Pittsburgh, PA area, with a preference for Harrisburg, PA.
Key Responsibilities Customer Focus: Communicate the clinical profile of BESREMi®, discuss pivotal trial data, and address clinical and non-clinical barriers for hematology/oncology customers.
Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with market access and medical teams to provide comprehensive customer solutions.
Knowledge sharing and development: Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and patient focus by sharing knowledge across teams and staying informed on clinical and business dynamics.
Results Focus Territory planning: Build, maintain and apply clinical and business expertise to develop plans addressing customer needs in the geography related to BESREMi®.
Account and prescriber action plans: Develop plans with clear milestones and use analytics to track progress toward goals.
Execution: Meet and exceed objectives through thoughtful planning and collaboration with partners and resources.
Entrepreneurial Expertise Subject matter expertise: Develop disease state knowledge, product expertise, competitive intelligence, market dynamics, and customer needs across segments.
Problem solving: Be creative, resourceful, and willing to tackle a startup environment with a “no job is too big or too small” mindset.
Continuous growth: Expand clinical, marketplace, and competitive knowledge and try new approaches to challenges.
Business Acumen Data-driven planning: Use data and sound judgement to adjust plans as the market evolves.
CRM utilization: Use CRM as a strategic tool to assess customer status and progress sales plans.
Administrative requirements: Complete sales-related administrative tasks (T&E, compliance SOPs, Sunshine reporting, etc.).
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree required.
5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in hematology, solid tumor, or rare disease spaces.
Proven hematology/oncology sales track record in academic and community settings; existing KOL and key account relationships valued.
Experience with new product launches; understanding of other commercial functions is preferred; startup experience is a plus.
Specialty pharmacy knowledge is preferred; ability to autonomously cover large geographic territories.
Strong communication, leadership presence, and ethical standards focused on patient welfare.
Ability to navigate the full sales cycle, including patient identification, clinical conviction, and access/reimbursement considerations.
Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and a hunter mentality with demonstrated sales success.
The expected base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000. Salary offers consider skills, experience, education, geography, and market factors. In addition to base salary, a competitive benefits package includes short-term and long-term incentives.
