Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and identify their care needs promptly.
- Organize and implement appropriate patient care plans.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Recognize and respond effectively to life-threatening situations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.
- Maintain accurate and relevant patient care records.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Adapt care to meet age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs.
- Support patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within medical guidelines.
Education and Experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in a Compact state or the relevant state.
- No prior work experience required; new graduates welcome.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of developmental, physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of diverse patient populations.
Physical Requirements
- Good speech and auditory acuity for patient communication.
- Visual acuity for patient observation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently.
- Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Active Registered Nurse license.
